Indian paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal became the latest to make the cut for Rio 2016 at the Asian Olympic qualification event in Hong Kong. The 33-year-old, who along with Mouma Das was a step away from booking a berth for the Games, qualified here on Saturday after beating Noshad Alamiyan 4-3 of Iran in the last round on Saturday.
He joins Manika Batra and Soumyajit Ghosh as the other two players from India to have made it through to the Games in August. Das, the other contender on the day, couldnt make it through to the Games afdter losing her match to Ri Myong Sun of North Korea.
