Micheal Maze of Denmark has made his country proud, being the only Danish player in top ten table tennis players of world. He got this achievement after publication of the Men’s World Ranking list by the International Table Tennis Federation on Thursday 1st October 2009. This Danish player got two places up from his previous best world ranking 12 to 10. On September 2009 he got gold in the Men’s Singles title at the Liebherr European Championships at Stuttgart of Germany by beating Werner Schlager by 4-1. He was unbeaten throughout the team event where they got silver. He clinched the no.11 spot after his quarter-final appearance in the Men’s Singles event at the H.I.S. World Championships in Yokohama and maintained that position in May and June. This year he has been most consistent on the ITTF Pro Tour for the talented left hander. He won the men’s single, the Slovenian Open and a face in semi-finalist and the runner up in both China and Korea.
It’s a carrier high for Micheal Maze and Hao Shuai. OH Sang Eun fell to spot no. 11 being replaced by Maze. Belarus Samsonov falls from no.6 to no.7 which is his lowest world ranking since 1997. Timo Boll fell from no.3 to no.5, beaten in Stuttgart in both team and singles events by Michael Maze. China’s Hao Shuai got October luck, climbed to sixth spot. China is still dominating the sport with world top four players from its land.
