17 June 2010, New Delhi: Team India continued with good performance here at the NCC Indian Open ITTF Pro Tour 2010 being held at the Yamuna Sports Complex in the capital. Ten Indians including 6 Men and 4 Women qualified for the main draw (round of 32) in the men’s singles and women’s singles event. The event is being considered as a test event en-route to the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi. Over hundred players from 13 nations are participating in the five day long event.
In the men’s singles, Abishek Ravichandran, Anirban Nandi, Sanil Shetty, Subhajit Saha, Amalraj Anthony Arputharaj and Sourav Chakraborty entered in the round of 32. Saurav Chakroborty will now take on tournament second seed Ning Gao from Singapore. Abhishek Ravichandran continued with his spectacular performance to secure a place in the round of 32. Abhishek who remained undefeated in the qualifiers will now take on Chih Hu from Chinese Taipei.
Top Indian seed Sharath Kamal Achanta who is already in the main draw will begin his campaign tomorrow. Sharath will face Ji Min Han from Korea who too qualified for the main draw.
In the women’s singles event, Shamini Kumaresan, Madhurika Patkar, Pooja Sahastrabudhe and Nandita Saha have qualified for the main draw. Shamini Kumaresan will take on tournament top seed Mengyu Yu from Singapore. On the Other hand Nandita Saha will play against Sayaka Hirano from Japan.
Top Indian seed, Mouma Das will began her campaign by taking on Dal Rae Jin from Korea in the main draw.

Speaking about the facility Mukharjee further added, “The venue is excellent and the facilities provided are world class. The field of play is good with right temperature and lighting.”
