Recently, the Chinese national games were held in Qingdao. On last Friday, Wang Hao, the world table tennis champion won the Men’s Singles title. It was his day. In final he defeated world no.2 Ma Long.
Wang Hao won 8-11, 11-4, 7-11, 15-13, 12-10, 12-10. Prior to this, he overcame Xu Xin, whilst Ma Long defeated Wang Liqin.
In the first set he struggled a bit with his topspin shots and committed some mistakes, but, in the second set he was quite dominant. He left no time and hit powerful smashes and took the set 11-4.
Ma Long comeback again in third set but did not match up by the quality of the defending champion. Last three sets were close and Wang Hao kept his nerve to take the gold medal.
On the same day, in another deciding final, Guo Yue teamed up with Hou Xiaoxu won against Rao Jingwen and Liu Juan 11-6, 11-8, 12-10, 9-11, 11-6 in the Women’s Doubles. They defeated Li Shenjie and Lv Xue in sem-finals.
