The Iranian men’s team claimed the first spot in the 21st Asian Taekwondo Championships and the 3rd Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Tashkent,Uzbekistan.
Iran finished with 65 points after winning 5 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals at the event.
The team from South Korea were the runners-up with 52 points after bagging 5 gold and 2 silver medals.
Hosts Uzbekistan had to settle for third place with 40 points with 2 gold and 7 bronze medals in their tally.
Taekwondo poomsae is a combination of basic actions and movements exercised with imaginary opponents.
The tournament has brought together 542 athletes from 34 countries and will conclude on May 28.
