Venus Williams

Californian Venus Williams entered the tennis scene in the year 1994. She has 49 career titles to her credit, including 7 Grand Slam Titles: 5 Wimbledon and 2 US Open. Though she made it to the finals of most championships, she consistently lost the title to her sister, Serena Williams. So far, the sisters have locked horns in court for a total of 9 times out of which Serena Williams 7 matches. She was off the court for a while due to injuries and could have won more titles if not for them.

Between 2000 and 2001, she won 4 of her 7 Grand Slam victories, performing extremely well. In 2002, she became the world number one. After a series of injuries and surgery, she bounced back into the scene in 2014 with being ranked 47. She has managed to stay in the top ten since. Venus Williams will always be remembered for her dedication to the game in spite of adversities.
