Jannik Sinner has had an incredible year so far in 2024. The Italian won his maiden Major title at the Australian Open in January before becoming the very first singles World No. 1 from his country after the French Open. He now arrives at Wimbledon with several impressive feats awaiting him.

Sinner is currently in superb form, having won his first-ever title on grass at the 2024 Terra Wortmann Open last week. The 22-year-old is the top seed at the All England Club and will be eager to secure his second Grand Slam tournament triumph during the next fortnight.

Now that history beckons for the World No. 1, let's take a look at three feats he could achieve at SW19.

#3. Jannik Sinner could become the first Italian player to win Wimbledon

Earlier this year, Jannik Sinner became only the fifth Italian player in tennis history to win a Major title, following in the footsteps of Nicola Pietrangeli (1959 French Open, 1960 French Open), Adriano Panatta (1976 French Open), Francesca Schiavone (2010 French Open) and Flavia Pennetta (2015 US Open).

The 22-year-old can make his country prouder by becoming the first Italian male or female player to triumph at Wimbledon. For academic purposes, Matteo Berrettini is the only player to have even made it to the title match at the All England Club (2021).

#2. Jannik Sinner could become the first player since Roger Federer to complete Halle-Wimbledon double

Sinner won his 14th career title at the ATP 500 tournament in Halle last week. With his triumph, the World No. 1 comes into Wimbledon as a firm favourite. Moreover, he also has a chance to replicate a feat achieved by only Roger Federer in the past.

Since the inception of the Halle Open (now known as the Terra Wortmann Open) in 1993, no player on the men's tour apart from Federer has completed the elusive Halle-Wimbledon double. The Swiss maestro, who is a 10-time titlist in Halle, recorded back-to-back triumphs at both tournaments in 2003-06 and 2017.

#1. Jannik Sinner could become only the sixth male player in Open era to win Australian Open and Wimbledon in the same season

Over the last year, Sinner has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on faster surfaces. The Italian is now looking at the prospect of becoming only the sixth male player in the Open era to reign supreme at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon in the same year.

The only players that have monopolized both Grand Slam tournaments since 1968 are — Novak Djokovic (2011, 2015, 2019, 2021) , Roger Federer (2004, 2006-07, 2017), Pete Sampras (1994, 1997), Rod Laver (1969) and Jimmy Connors (1974). In that regard, Sinner will have extra motivation to go all the way at SW19 this year.
