5 best outfits that turned heads at the US Open ft. Naomi Osaka, Jack Draper 

After a thrilling fortnight of tennis, the 2024 US Open has finally come to a close. Two new champions were crowned in New York this year with Jannik Sinner lifting the title in the men's draw and Aryna Sabalenka capturing the crown in the women's event. While Sinner brushed aside Taylor Fritz in the finals, Sabalenka stamped her authority against local favorite Jessica Pegula. She outfoxed the American in straight sets 7-5, 7-5, in one hour and 54 minutes.

The US Open is the final Grand Slam event of the year. Players turned heads with their earnest all-around game and also made a statement with bold fashion choices. Players such as Marta Kostyuk, Grigor Dimitrov, and Naomi Osaka, complimented the US Open blue with their vibrant fresh ensemble.

Let's take a look at five players who caught the shutterbugs' attention with their outfit choices this year.

#5) Emma Navarro

The 23-year-old Emma Navarro sported a classic white and cream Fila outfit this year. The look is a part of the Fila Casa Collection launched two months ago in July. She chose a V-neck tank top with an edgy design and paired it with a layered pleated skirt. The striped accents on her waistline and collar added to the look and gave it an appealing retro-futuristic design.

Navarro was one of the dark horses at the US Open this year. She entered the event on the back of a solid run in Monterrey and managed to reach the semifinals. Despite a valiant effort against Aryna Sabalenka, the Belarusian defeated her in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(2).

#4) Jack Draper

The 22-year-old Jack Draper donned an oversized tie-dye outfit by Nike at the US Open. The loose-fitted T-shirt and shorts were embedded with shades of purple, pink and black. He also evoked a sense of nostalgia with his footwear, a remastered edition of the Nike Court Air Zoom Vapor Pro 2, released in 1990. The popular shoes were also worn by the tennis legend Andre Agassi.

The youngster reached his maiden semifinal at the US Open by outmuscling players such as Tomas Machac, Botic Van De Zandschulp and Alex De Minaur. The Brit's run was eventually ended by Jannik Sinner in the last four.

#3) Coco Gauff

Last year's US Open champion Coco Gauff has been with New Balance for almost six years. She signed a contract with the Boston-based sports brand at the age of 14 and then extended her contract at the age of 18. The American chose a minimal sky-blue tank top and a pleated skirt for the US Open. She paired it with yellow wristbands and headgear, which highlighted the vivid New Balance logo.

Gauff completed the look with her new CG2 shoes. The youngster failed to defend her title this year but managed to reach the fourth round. She was eliminated by Navarro in a close three-set bout, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

#2) Carlos Alcaraz

World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz, known for his scintillating skills on the court, donned a powerful all-black Nike ensemble this year. He opted for a sleeveless design with trademark Nike shorts and off-grey Nike shoes. The youngster also sported matching wristbands to give a simple yet commanding vibe on the court.

The Spaniard was one of the best players on the men's tour. Apart from a silver medal finish in the Paris Olympics, he also secured title triumphs in the French Open and Wimbledon Championships.

In the US Open this year., he started his campaign by cruising past Li Tu in the first round but was stunned by Botic Van De Zandschulp in the second. The Dutchman outfoxed Alcaraz in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, 6-4.

The 26-year-old Naomi Osaka is known for her bold choices and experimental looks on the tennis court. She turned heads this year with a custom Nike outfit designed by Yoon Ahn from Ambush. The former US Open champion used a black athleisure ensemble during warm-up but shed the outer layers to reveal a stunning black dress before the match. The dress featured ruffled details and a bow on the back, perfectly complementing her black Nike sneakers.

To complete the look, Osaka accessorized with ruffled Beats headphones and added a touch of personality with pearls in her hair.

The 26-year-old made a strong start by defeating Jelena Ostapenko in the first round, but couldn't make her mark against Karolina Muchova in the second. The Czech outsmarted her in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6(5).
