This incident still remains as one of the funniest tennis moments of all time. It certainly qualifies as the best response to a fan's proposal by a top player.
Steffi Graf, arguably the best WTA player of all time, was just as good with verbal comebacks as she was with the racket during her prime. In her 1996 semi-final against Kimiko Date, an anonymous fan famously asked her to marry him as she was preparing to serve.
As expected, the entire stadium came alive and plunged into laughter. Even Date could not stop a smile from slipping out at the moment. However, what really pushed them into splits was Graf's response to the question.
She took her time to answer the question. Finally, a retort came. It became one of the most talked-about moments in the history of Wimbledon.
Her shout into the crowd was: "How much money do you have?"
