2023 Adelaide runner-up Sebastian Korda will take on the fifth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final on Saturday (Jan. 11). Korda had to win just two matches to reach the final here for the second time. He had previously lost to Novak Djokovic in the Adelaide final.

Auger-Aliassime also got a bye in the first round like his final opponent. In the second round, he dropped the first set 1-6 against Arthur Cazaux. World No. 29 Auger-Aliassime won the next two sets 6-4, 7-5.

In the next round, Auger-Aliassime won 7-6(3), 6-3 against USA's Marcos Giron. The 24-year-old faced another American in the semifinal, this time the top seed Tommy Paul. The Canadian had to save a set point on his serve at 4-5 in the first set, before he won the tie-break (7-3).

Paul won the second set 6-3 while Auger-Aliassime won the deciding set 6-4 as he closed out the match in two hours and 48 minutes.

Korda had to play one match less as he got a walkover against Thanasi Kokkinakis. The 24-year-old American won 6-3, 6-3 against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the second round and Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 7-6(4) in the semifinal.

World No. 29 Auger-Aliassime leads his final opponent 2-1 in the head-to-head meetings. The fifth seed won both their matches on the hard courts, in the round of 16 at 2021 Acapulco and 2022 Antwerp final.

World No. 22 Korda had won when they met on the clay court at Estoril 2022 in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Sebastian Korda prediction

Both players do not have an impressive record in ATP finals, as Auger-Aliassime has won five out of 15 finals whereas Korda has won only two out of eight finals in the past.

Korda lost the 2023 Adelaide final to Novak Djokovic. On the other hand, Auger-Aliassime lost his only previous final in Australia against Daniel Evans at 2021 Murray River Open in Melbourne.

Auger-Aliassime has already played two thee-set matches in Adelaide and must be thinking about his first round match against World No. 42 Jan-Lennard Struff at the Australian Open, which he will have to play on Monday or Tuesday.

Korda is relatively fresh as he did not play after the 2024 US Open due to an elbow surgery. He will face a qualifier, Lukas Klein in the first round of the Australian Open, so he would be favorite to win his third ATP title on Sunday.

Pick: Korda in three sets.
