Sebastian Korda vs Thanasi Kokkinakis preview
Second seed Sebastian Korda of the United States will take on Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis for a place in the semifinals of the Adelaide International.
Korda, the runner-up in the tournament in 2023, received a bye in the first round and then dispatched Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain in straight sets. He looked in really good touch in the match after having endured a pretty ordinary 2024.
Meanwhile, Kokkinakis, playing in his home country, has endured a couple of tough three-setters in the tournament so far. He first beat Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the first round and then disposed of Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina in the second. Kokkinakis should be considerably exhausted ahead of the quarterfinal.
Sebastian Korda vs Thanasi Kokkinakis head-to-head
The two players have met each other on three occasions. Korda has managed to win each of those three clashes. The American thus leads their head-to-head 3-0 at the moment.

Sebastian Korda vs Thanasi Kokkinakis prediction
Korda is one of the most elegant players on the men's tour. When on song, there are few players as great to look at than the 24-year-old American. However, he has been plagued by injuries in the past quite frequently which has affected his ranking at times.
The American hits the ball with consummate grace but will have to counter a considerable threat in the form of Kokkinakis on Thursday. The big Australian has a huge serve and likes to hit winners with his forehand. On a faster surface in Adelaide, he should be able to seriously test Korda's defense.
Korda will have to defend with a lot of gumption against the big Australian on the day. However, his all-round game should prove to be too good for Kokkinakis who lacks the requisite game from the baseline to tackle Korda. Buoyed by the home support, the Australian might be able to win a set, but the American should be able to emerge triumphant in the end.
Pick: Korda to win in three sets.
