Top seed and World No. 12 Tommy Paul is all set to start his 2025 season at the Adelaide International. The American player produced some decent performances during the 2024 season, as he reached four finals. He won three titles in Dallas, Queen's Club, and Stockholm and reached the semifinals at two Masters 1000 events at Indian Wells and Rome.

In Grand Slams, Paul did reach the fourth round of the US Open and the quarterfinal of the Wimbledon Championships, losing to two of the best players of the year- Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz respectively. At the Adelaide International, Paul got a bye in the first round as he was the top seed.

Manuel Guinard mostly played on the Challenger Tour in the last season. The Frenchman played at a handful of qualifiers at main-level ATP events but failed to qualify for the main draw most of the time.
