World No. 8 Alex de Minaur will face the unseeded American Alex Michelsen in the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open on Monday, 20 January.
The Australian No. 1 de Minaur has reached the quarterfinals at all the Grand Slams, except the Australian Open. He has lost in the fourth round at the Australian Open in his last three appearances, to Jannik Sinner in 2022, Novak Djokovic in 2023, and Andrey Rublev in 2024.
The 25-year-old has had a relatively easy draw so far at the 2025 Australian Open, as he defeated Botic Van De Zandschulp in the first round, the American qualifier Tristan Boyer in the second round, and 31st seed Francisco Cerundolo in the third round.
On the other hand, 20-year-old Michelsen stunned the 2023 Australian Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round, the Australian wildcard James McCabe in the second round and 19th seed Karen Khachanov in the third round.

Alex Michelsen vs Alex de Minaur prediction
Alex de Minaur reached the quarterfinals at the other three Grand Slams in 2024, so he could become the first Australian to reach four consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinals in Men's Singles since Lleyton Hewitt in 2005.
He finished the 2024 season by losing his last six matches, but now he has a winning streak of five matches in 2025, which started at the United Cup.
The World No. 8 is also carrying the hopes of the home crowd on his shoulders, as no Australian has reached the men's singles quarterfinals at the Melbourne Park since Nick Kyrgios did it in 2015.
Michelsen made his Australian Open debut last year and stunned the 32nd seed Jiri Lehecka in the second round before losing to Alexander Zverev.
The American has only one top 10 win in his career, which was against Alex de Minaur in Los Cabos last year, but things could be different at a Grand Slam.
Pick: Alex de Minaur to win in four sets
