Alexander Zverev is a professional tennis player from Germany, born on April 20, 1997, in Hamburg, Germany. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of No. 2 in June 2022 and is ranked No. 2 as of January 2025. Zverev began playing tennis at the age of five. His parents were tennis coaches, who helped him to develop his game from the beginning. In his junior career, he won the boys' singles tennis title at the 2014 Australian Open, he also made the final at the 2013 French Open.

Zverev entered the top 100 for the first time in 2015, and at the end of the season, he was named the ATP Newcomer of the Year. He has won 23 ATP singles titles in her career, including seven Masters 1000 titles. Zverev also had a brilliant record in the Grand Slams. He has made the final of the Grand Slam singles twice in his career, including at the 2020 US Open and 2024 French Open.

In 2025, Zverev advanced to his first Australian Open final after Novak Djokovic retired from the tournament due to a torn muscle. He lost in the final to Jannik Sinner by 6-3, 7-6, 6-3. The prize money he won for finishing the tournament runner-up was around A$1.9 million.

Alexander Zverev won the Olympic gold medal in singles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In the semifinal of the Tokyo Games, he was set and a break down against Novak Djokovic, but made an impressive comeback and reached the final.

In the final, he defeated Karen Khachanov in straight sets to win the gold medal and became the first German male player to win an Olympic gold medal in singles.

In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Zverev lost in the quarterfinals against Lorenzo Musetti. He also played in mixed doubles with Laura Siegemund, and they lost in the first round.
