The Indo-Polish pair of Rohan Bopanna and Lukasz Kubot could not maintain their momentum in the semifinal of the Shanghai Rolex Masters as they lost to the team of Raven Klaasen and Marcelo Melo.
The South African-Brazilian pair of Klaasen and Melo took the first set 6-3, only for Bopanna and Kubot to come back and claim the second set 7-6 off a tie-breaker. The third set was also decided by a thrilling super tie-breaker which went in favour of Klaasen and Melo 10-7.
Klaasen and Melo won four out of seven first services and both their second services. Their return points were fifty-fifty, as they won three out of six first return points and one of two second return points.
Bopanna and Kubot won three out of six first services and one out of two second services. They managed three out of seven first returns and none of their second returns, but did manage to score the only ace of the match.
Bopanna won both matches leading upto the semifinal, beating the team of Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt in the second round and Feliciano Lopez and Max Mirnyi in the quartefinals.
