Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert preview
World No. 2 Alexander Zverev will face the 14th seed Ugo Humbert in a fourth round match at the Australian Open on Sunday, January 19.
The two-time Australian Open semifinalist will be trying to reach the last eight at the Grand Slam for the fourth time. The German has not dropped a set at the 2025 Australian Open so far, as he has defeated Lucas Pouille, Pedro Martinez, and Jacob Fearnley in straight sets.
The 27-year-old has been in superb form lately and is yet to lose a match this season. He has won 13 out of his last 14 matches, winning the Paris Masters, all of his group stage matches at the Nitto ATP Finals (before losing to Taylor Fritz in the semifinals), and both his singles matches at the United Cup.
Humbert finished his 2024 season by reaching the Paris Masters final (which he lost to Zverev) and defeated Dominic Stricker at the United Cup, before losing to Italy's Flavio Cobolli.
At the Australian Open, he defeated the Italian qualifier Matteo Gigante in the first round, another qualifier Hady Habib in the second round, and his compatriot Arthur Fils retired in the third round when Humbert was leading two sets to one.

Alexander Zverev vs Ugo Humbert prediction
Alexander Zverev was one set away from reaching the final of the 2024 Australian Open as he won first two sets against Daniil Medvedev, before falling to defeat. But this time, he appears to be in even better form and would not want the same to happen.
The German could potentially face the winner of Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, so he would want to keep this winning streak of sets going, so that he would have a psychological edge against his rivals.
Meanwhile, World No. 14 Humbert has reached the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time in his fifth appearance at the event. In fact, he has never reached a quarterfinal in his previous 24 appearances at all Grand Slams.
The left-handed Humbert is going to need some luck, as Zverev has played 15 matches against southpaws in the last 52 weeks and he has won all of them.
Pick: Zverev to win in straight sets
