Second seed Iga Swiatek will face Rebecca Sramkova in the second round of the 2025 Australian Open on Thursday, January 16.

Swiatek commenced her 2025 season at the United Cup, guiding Poland to the final. The World No. 2 remained unbeaten in singles until the final. She defeated the likes of Elena Rybakina and Katie Boulter before falling to Coco Gauff in the title clash.
