15th seed Jack Draper will face Aleksandar Vukic in the third round of the Australian Open 2025.

Draper fought past Mariano Navone 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to book his spot in the second round, where Thanasi Kokkinakis awaited him. After losing a tight first set in the tie-break, the Brit fought back to take the second set. However, the third set slipped out of his grasp, and it was deja vu for him after being in a similar position in the previous round.
Draper came quite close to being eliminated as Kokkinakis served for the match at 5-4 in the fourth set. The Brit stopped him from doing so and bagged the next two games to take the set. He raised his level in the decider and went on a three-game run to close out a 6-7 (3), 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 win.
Vukic needed five sets to get past Damir Dzumhur in his opener here and was up against 22nd seed Sebastian Korda in the second round. The Aussie took the early lead by capturing the first set but found himself on the verge of losing after his opponent claimed the next two sets.
With his back up against the wall, Vukic came out of the gates swinging in the fourth set. He didn't let a 3-0 lead go to waste as he clinched the set to level the proceedings. The two were on even terms for most of the decider, until the Aussie broke the deadlock by reeling three games on the trot for a 6-4, 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory.

Vukic will aim to continue his dream run here with the backing of the home crowd.
