Jannik Sinner vs Alex de Minaur preview
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will face the crowd favorite Alex de Minaur in the Quarterfinal of the 2025 Australian Open on Wednesday, 22 January.
Defending champion Sinner, who was struggling physically during his fourth-round match against Holger Rune, is yet to lose a Grand Slam match on hard courts since the 2023 US Open.
The Italian started his campaign at Melbourne with comfortable victories against Nicolas Jarry, Tristan Schoolkate, and Marcos Giron in the first three rounds. He then went on to beat Holger Rune 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the fourth round on Monday.
On the other hand, Australian No. 1 Alex de Minaur outplayed Botic van de Zandschulp 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round and brushed aside Tristan Boyer 6-2, 6-4, 6-3 in the second round.
De Minaur dropped the first set 5-7 in his third-round match against Francisco Cerundolo, before winning the next three 7-6(3), 6-3, 6-3. In the fourth round, he won 6-0, 7-6(3), 6-3 against USA's Alex Michelsen.

Jannik Sinner vs Alex de Minaur prediction
Jannik Sinner has dominated his opponent in the past, but this time he might have to face a tough time challenge during a difficult Melbourne climate, as was evident in his match against Holger Rune.
The 23-year-old has reached his 10th quarterfinal at a Grand Slam and has won four of the nine Grand Slam Quarterfinals he has played in the past. The Italian has an 11-match winning streak at the Australian Open and would like to keep it going.
Meanwhile, Alex De Minaur has never won a Grand Slam quarterfinal before, losing all four previous quarterfinals at the majors.
He would be hoping to become the first Australian to reach the semifinal of the Men's Singles event at Melbourne Park since Lleyton Hewitt reached the final in 2005.
Pick: Jannik Sinner to win in four sets
