Paula Badosa vs Olga Danilovic preview
One of the Round of 16 clashes at the 2025 Australian Open will feature a match between 11th seed Paula Badosa and Olga Danilovic. Badosa's 2025 season did not start well, as the Spaniard suffered second-round exits at both the Brisbane International and the Adelaide International.
At the Australian Open, the 11th seed began her campaign with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) over China's Wang Xinyu, followed by a crushing 6-1, 6-0 win over Australian wildcard opponent Talia Gibson. In the third round, Badosa faced off against 17th-seeded Marta Kostyuk and was able to hold off the Ukrainian in a topsy-turvy match, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to reach the fourth round of the Melbourne Major.
Olga Danilovic entered the Australian Open after suffering a 2-6, 3-6 loss to Maya Joint in the first round of the Hobart International. The Serb started her campaign in Melbourne with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Arantxa Rus and followed it up by trouncing 25th seed Liudmila Samsonova 6-1, 6-2 to reach the third round of a non-clay Grand Slam for the first time in her career.
Danilovic faced seventh seed Jessica Pegula in the third round and won a tightly-fought first set via a tiebreak. The Serb dominated the second set to register a 7-6(1), 6-1 win and a place in the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Paula Badosa vs Olga Danilovic prediction
Badosa has hit 94 winners in her three matches. She has won 231 points in her matches so far which takes her winners ratio to 41 percent. On the other hand, Danilovic has hit 89 winners in her 198 points, taking her winners ratio to 45 percent. On serve the Spaniard has won 69 percent of her first serve points, whereas the Serb has won 74 percent of her first serve points.
It is on the return wing that Danilovic has performed better than Badosa significantly so far. The Serb has conceded only 9 break points in three matches, being broken only twice. On the other hand, Badosa has faced 20 break points on her serve, with the eleventh seed being broken six times in the tournament so far.
If Danilovic can create pressure on the Badosa serve, then the Serbian might find a way past her opponent. However, given the Spaniard's form over the past few months, it is difficult to not see her win the match and reach her third Grand Slam quarterfinal.
