Sebastian Korda vs Lukas Klein preview
22nd-seeded Sebastian Korda will look to get his 2025 Australian Open campaign underway as he faces Lukas Klein in the first round. Korda had a good 2024 season as he won his second career title at the Citi Open, and also reached the final of the Libema Open. Barring these results, the American player also had three semifinal runs in the season.
Korda began the 2025 season on a good note by reaching the final of the Adelaide International. He won his matches against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-3, and against Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 7-6 (4). However, Korda lost the final to Felix Auger-Aliassime, losing 3-6, 6-3,1-6 in the summit clash.
Lukas Klein mostly played on Challengers in 2024, barring his quarterfinal run at the Serbia Open in Belgrade. Even on the challenger Tour, the Slovakian player struggled to make it to the later stages of events.
In 2025, Klein failed to qualify for the main draw of the Brisbane International, losing 4-6, 4-6 to Li Tu in the qualifiers. At the Australian Open, he won his qualifying rounds against Alexis Galarneau (6-4,3-6,7-5), Eliot Spizzirri (6-3,6-4), and Terence Atmane (6-4, 6-1)
