Ons Jabeur vs Linda Noskova preview
The second round of the 2024 ecotrans Ladies Open will have two-time former Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur take on grasscourt greenhorn Linda Noskova in an intriguing clash.
Jabeur, the eighth seed at this year’s tournament, opened her campaign with a rain-interrupted win over Wang Xinyu. The win helped her improve her season’s win-loss record to 13-11.
The Tunisian had gotten the better of Maria Camila Osorio Serrano and Linda Fruhvirtova in Nottingham before being edged out by Karolina Pliskova in the quarterfinals. She will be hopeful of a better performance in Berlin.
Noskova, meanwhile, posted just her second grasscourt win on the tour. Her opponent was former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber.
The Czech went toe-to-toe with the German’s flat hitting and managed to eke out a 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-4 victory. Her relative inexperience on the surface aside, Noskova will be feeling confident given her impressive 18-10 win-loss coming into the contest against Jabeur.
Ons Jabeur vs Linda Noskova head-to-head
Jabeur and Linda Noskova have split their last two meetings, so their head-to-head currently stands at a 1-1 deadlock. Both their encounters came last year, with the Czech winning in Adelaide and her opponent pulling level in New York.

Ons Jabeur vs Linda Noskova prediction
Form has meant little for Ons Jabeur when it comes to grasscourts. The Tunisian had come into last year’s Wimbledon after a very poor season, but turned things around by reaching her second consecutive final.
This year too, results have been under par. She did, however, look in great touch in Nottingham but came unstuck against Karolina Pliskova in the quarterfinals.
The Tunisian’s slice and dice, dropshots and dynamism are all rewarded on the grass, but Linda Noskova showed her skills on the surface in the opener.
The youngster was particularly impressive on serve, winning nearly 80% points on the first serve. She likes to play aggressively and has huge potential on the surface, but the gulf in the level of grasscourt experience should tilt the match in Jabeur’s favor.
Prediction: Jabeur to win in three sets.
