Daria Kasatkina vs Peyton Stearns prediction
While Kasatkina would have been gutted to not claim more titles on tour last year, Stearns added a valuable trophy to her locker in Morocco. Both players will be eager to impress in 2025 and rise up the WTA rankings on tour.
Kasatkina is known for her steady all-around game and clean groundstrokes off both wings. She will fancy her chances against the American and hope to begin on a strong note.
Stearns, on the contrary, put up a dominant performance against Kudermetova in the first round. She won 68% of her first serve points and saved four break points to secure her place in the second round.
Considering their record on hardcourts, Kasatkina will be the clear favorite to come out on top. The Russian will be fresh after a season break on tour and will be determined to begin on a strong note. She should be able to edge past Stearns in this bout.
Pick: Kasatkina to win in three sets.
