The 35th-ranked Baez improved to 8-5 on the season with a pair of wins this week -- beating Cristian Garin and Laslo Djere. Meanwhile, World No. 76 Etcheverry opened his campaign with wins against Fabio Fognini, Francisco Cerundolo and Dusan Lajovic to improve to 6-5 in 2023.

Baez has had a good Golden Swing, winning the Cordoba title and reaching the quarterfinals at the ATP 500 Rio Open last week. Meanwhile, Etcheverry reached the quarterfinals at the Argentina Open last month.

Baez is looking to go all the way this year after losing the 2022 final to Pedro Martinez. The in-form Baez took his lone meeting with Etcheverry in the Round of 32 at Lyon last year in straight sets and should prevail again.
