Australian Open quarterfinalist Marta Kostyuk will take on Katie Volynets in the Round of 64 at the 2024 China Open on Friday, 27 September at the National Tennis Center in Beijing, China.

Kostyuk is stepping into Beijing after a promising run at the Korea Open. Seeded fifth, the Ukrainian defeated Heather Watson and Arantxa Rus before losing to fourth seed Diana Shnaider in the quarterfinals. Kostyuk previously reached the third round at the U.S. Open, equalling her best appearance at the tournament.
