Third seed Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia rallied to upset Poland’s top seed Agnieszka Radwanska in three sets to win the WTA Bank of the West Classic tennis tournament here.
The 25th ranked Cibulkova wrapped up the 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in two and a half hours here Sunday, reports Xinhua.
The Sloval girl broke World No.4 Radwanska for a 5-4 lead in the third set, and surrendered four match points before finally sealing the game lasting more than 10 minutes.
It is the first time the 24-year-old Cibulkova defeated Radwanska, also 24, after four straight previous defeats, including a 6-0, 6-0 smash in the final at Sydney in January.
