J.J. Wolf vs Brandon Holt preview
J.J. Wolf will open his Dallas campaign against compatriot Brendan Holt, seeking to build on following a good start to the season.
The 24-year-old is coming off his first appearance in the second week of a Grand Slam, losing in the fourth round at the Australian Open last month to compatriot Ben Shelton in five sets. With that run, Wolf rose to a career-best ranking of World No. 43.
Holt, meanwhile, emerged from qualifying to make the second round at the Australian Open. The World No. 195 led Roberto Bautista Agut by two sets but ran out of steam as the higher-ranked Spaniard lived on to fight another day.
J.J. Wolf vs Brandon Holt head-to-head
The two players have never met before, so their head-to-head record stands at 0-0. In their lone Challenger meeting last year in Orlando, Wolf prevailed in three sets.

J.J. Wolf vs Brandon Holt prediction
J.J. Wolf is easily the more experienced of the two players, going 21-21 on the tour, compared to Holt's record of 2-3. The latter only made his ATP Tour debut last year at the US Open last year.
Wolf can draw confidence from his first foray into the second round of a Major. He was within a set of his first Grand Slam quarter-final, leading Shelton by two sets to one before falling short.
Holt, meanwhile, has crossed the first-round hurdle at both Grand Slams he has played so far, famously beating Taylor Fritz at Flushing Meadows last year.
Both Americans are quintessential baseliners, move well and have a powerful game from the back of the court. However, Wolf's superior experience should stand him in good stead as he looks to mark his Dallas debut with a win.
Expect Wolf to prevail, albeit in three sets, in the battle of the two 24-year-old Americans on Tuesday (February 7).
Pick: J.J. Wolf in three sets
