Oscar Otte vs Christopher Eubanks preview
World No. 80 Oscar Otte will square off against Christopher Eubanks in the first round of the 2023 Dallas Open on Tuesday (February 7).
Otte has seen a significant dip in his form over the last few months, chalking up only six wins from 23 matches since his third-round appearance at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. His last decent run came at the Rolex Paris Masters, where he entered the main draw with back-to-back wins in the qualifiers. However, Otte couldn't get past American John Isner in the first round.
The German will come into the Dallas Open on the back of early exits at the Adelaide International 2, Australian Open and Davis Cup qualifiers. He is currently on a four-match losing streak and his latest win came at the 2023 United Cup against Dalibor Svrcina of the Czech Republic.
Christopher Eubanks, on the other hand, has been in decent touch in the last few months, garnering 22 wins from 31 matches since his second-round exit at the 2022 US Open. He's been on the losing end of two Challenger Series finals in Charlottesville and Knoxville and also reached the semi-finals of the Champaign Challenger in November.
The American will arrive at the Dallas Open on the back of second-round exits at the Auckland Open and the 2023 Australian Open. He couldn't fend off the in-form Czech tennis player Jiri Lehecka in a four-set tie in Melbourne.

Oscar Otte vs Christopher Eubanks prediction
Both players will be determined to end the hardcourt season on a high and prepare well ahead of the claycourt swing. While Otte will be looking to snap his four-match losing streak and find some form, Eubanks will be hoping to raise his level on the main tour amongst the best players in the world.
Otte possesses a solid all-round game and is particularly strong from the baseline. He likes to grind out points and wear down his opponents. However, he may struggle against more aggressive players who can dictate play and force him out of his comfort zone.
Eubanks will be up against a player who made the semi-finals in three tournaments at the main tour level last year. The American will need to stay focused and not take his opponent lightly even though Otte is not playing his best tennis at the moment.
The American is known for his big serve and aggressive style of play. Standing at 6'7", Eubanks uses his height to his advantage and can hit powerful serves and forehands. The 26-year-old often looks to end points quickly and can be very effective when he is on and his shots are landing. However, his tendency to go for big shots can also lead to unforced errors.
The World No. 4 could fine-tune his movement and consistency from the baseline to become a more well-rounded player. He's been working hard to compete at the highest level and will be eager to put up a solid performance in the first round.
Otte will be a slight favorite due to his ranking superiority and results on the main tour. However, Eubanks couldn't have asked for a much better time to face his opponent and should be able to make the most of the German's dismal form at the moment.
Pick: Eubanks to win in three sets.
