India’s Divij Sharan and Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei went down fighting in the men’s doubles third round at the US Open tennis tournament at Flushing Meadows here.
The pair gave fifth seeds Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer a run for their money before losing 6-7 (6), 6-3, 3-6 Monday.
The Pakistan-Dutch combine play fourth seeds Leander Paes and Czech Republic’s Radek Stepanek in the quarterfinals Tuesday.
Sania Mirza and and Zheng Jie of China have already made the women’s doubles quarterfinals.
