Donna Vekic is a successful tennis player from Croatia who was born on June 28, 1996. She achieved her highest singles ranking of No. 18 in October 7, 2024, and is ranked No. 19 by the WTA as of January 2025.

Vekic registered her best performance at a major at the 2024 Wimbledon Open, where she lost to finalist at the 2024 French Open Jasmine Paolini in the semifinal. With the win, she became the first woman from Croatia to reach the semifinals at the All England Club event since Mirjana Lučić-Baroni in 1999. She is an aggressive baseline player who likes to dominate points with her flat groundstrokes, especially from the forehand wing.

Besides tennis, Vekic is also an entrepreneur and owner of home fragrance brand DNNA. She recently also launched her own clothing line in collaboration with Uomo. She advanced to the final of the 2024 Bad Homburg Open, losing to Diana Shnaider in the final by 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

How many WTA titles has Donna Vekic won?

Vekic has won four WTA singles titles till date — the 2023 Monterrey Open, the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open, the 2017 Nottingham Open and the 2014 Malaysian Open. At the 2023 Monterrey Open, she defeated world No. 10 Caroline Garcia in three tough sets in the final. It was her first title since 2021 and her first victory over a top 10 player in the 2023 season.

In the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open, she defeated Clara Tauson 7-6, 6-2 in the final. She was playing the tournament on her lowest ranking in five years. She defeated Johanna Konta at the final of the 2017 Nottingham Open, and Dominika Cibulkova at the 2014 Malaysian Open.
