Matthew Ebden is a professional tennis player from Australia, who mostly competes in doubles. Ebden and Purcell Doubles Partnership

In 2021, Matthew Ebden partnered with fellow Aussie Max Purcell. Their partnership worked well, and they won many titles, including the Grand Slam doubles title at the Wimbledon in 2022.


After achieving remarkable success in the 2022 season, Purcell decided to end his partnership with Ebden. According to Purcell, he wanted to improve his singles game and ranking, resulting in the duo parting ways.

Ebden and Purcell started playing doubles together in 2021, and they reached the quarterfinals at the 2021 US Open. In 2022, the pair reached the final of the Australian Open, where they lost to Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios in the final. Ebden and Purcell reached their second major final at the 2022 Wimbledon, where they defeated Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in the final to win their first Grand Slam title.


After the successful 2022 season, Purcell decided to end his partnership with Ebden to focus on singles.

After ending his partnership with Purcell at the beginning of 2023, Matthew Ebden teamed up with Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna. In 2023, Ebden and Bopanna won the Qatar Open and Indian Wells titles, and also reached the final of the Madrid Open, Rotterdam Open, and the US Open. They also won the 2024 Australian Open and 2024 Miami Open titles.
