Emma Raducanu, a British pro tennis player, was born on November 13, 2002. As of January 2025, she has only won one professional event since going pro in 2018—the 2021 US Open. At the event, she won 6-4, 6-3 against Leylah Fernandez. Her career record in singles is 121–62. Ranking outside the top 300, she received a wildcard invitation to the 2021 Wimbledon and advanced to the fourth round of her first major event.

Following her victory at the US Open, Raducanu became the first British woman to win a major since Virginia Wade's victory in 1977 and the youngest British woman to do so historically. Being her second major tournament, she holds the Open Era record for the fewest majors played before a title win. Great Britain lost the match 2-1, but Raducanu defeated Viktoria Hruncakova in straight sets in their final-four encounter against Slovakia.
