Miomir Kecmanovic vs Luca Nardi preview
Sixth seed Miomir Kecmanovic will open his Estoril Open campaign against Italian Luca Nardi.
The 35th-ranked Kecmanovic, making his Estoril debut, is 8-8 on the season. He's coming off a third-round showing at the Miami Open, where he snapped a three-match losing streak (Delray Beach Open final, followed by opening-round exits at Acapulco and Indian Wells).
Kecmanovic's best result of the season so far came at Delray Beach, where he lost in three sets to Taylor Fritz in the summit clash. The 23-year-old opened his 2023 season at the Adelaide International 1, where he made the Round of 16, and reached the Adelaide International 2 quarterfinals before losing in the first round of the Australian Open. He returned to winning ways in the Davis Cup against Norway before stumbling in the opening round in Dallas.
Meanwhile, World No. 130 Nardi has mostly played on the Challenger Tour this year, losing his only match on the ATP Tour in Montpellier. The 19-year-old Italian reached the quarterfinals of the Bengaluru Challenger before losing in the Pune final. Like his higher-ranked opponent, Nardi is also making his Estoril debut.

Miomir Kecmanovic vs Luca Nardi prediction
Both Kecmanovic and Nardi are quintessential baseliners, but there's a wide difference in their experience and pedigree.
Kecmanovic, who turned pro in 2017, has reached multiple finals on the tour, while Nardi has just started out, winning only one of his seven main draw matches while finding his footing on the main tour. The Serb tends to play his best tennis on hardcourts, where his powerful serve and strong hitting off either flank pay rich dividends.
Nevertheless, he's no slouch on clay, with his only career title (2020 Kitzbuhel) coming on the red dirt. Kecmanovic has had an up-down season, struggling for consistency. However, he should return to winning ways in the first tournament of the European claycourt swing against a relative greenhorn.
Pick: Kecmanovic in straight sets
