Alex de Minaur vs Hugo Gaston prediction
De Minaur has not played a lot since he got injured at Wimbledon and forfeited his quarterfinal. Since then, the European Open is only the second event that the Australian has played in. Overall, the former World No 6 has been a pretty decent hard-court player, reaching 14 finals and winning 7 titles.
Hugo Gaston has yet to win a title and make his mark on the ATP Tour. However, hard courts have not been the Frenchman's strongest suit, as both of his career finals have come on a clay surface.
Even though De Minaur is the higher-ranked player and the top seed, whether the Australian is back to his full fitness remains the question. However, the kind of tennis he is capable of producing is of a very high level and there is a good chance of him winning the match comprehensively and reaching the semifinals.
