Swiss second seed Roger Federer was pushed out to five sets before subduing Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to reach the semi-finals at the Australian Open on Wednesday.
Federer defeated the French seventh seed, 7-6 (7/4), 4-6, 7-6 (7/4), 3-6, 6-3 in 3hr 34min on Rod Laver Arena and will meet Andy Murray in Friday’s semi.
