16 grand slam winner Roger Federer dropped down to no 3 for the first time in last 7 years after his dismal performance in Wimbledon this year. According to the ATP rankings released today, Roger Federer is now 120 points behind Serbian Novak Djokovic who regained his no 2 spot after losing it to Rafael Nadal earlier this year.
On the other hand, world no 1 Rafael Nadal cemented his position at the top of ATP rankings after winning the Wimbledon. He is now 3800 points clear of Djokovic. This year has been terrific for him and after winning Wimbledon, he has become the only man after legendary Bjorn Borg to complete French Open-Wimbledon double twice.
24 year old Berdych, broke into the top 10 after his 2 week impressive run at Wimbledon, which included defeating 6 time champion Federer and Serb Novak Djokovic. Berdych is now at no 8, nearly 400 points clear of Andy Roddick whose poor show at Wimbledon makes him drop to no 9.
Andy Murray retains his no 4 position after making it to the semifinals.
