Fourth seeds Ferrer and Radwanska into Wimbledon second round

Fourth seeded David Ferrer reached the Wimbledon second round on Tuesday when he defeated Argentina’s Martin Alund, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2.

Ferrer will face Horacio Zeballos, also of Argentina, for a place in the last 32.

Meanwhile, in the women’s section, Polish fourth seed Agnieszka Radwanska reached the Wimbledon second round on Tuesday with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Austrian qualifier Yvonne Meusberger.

Radwanska, the runner-up to Serena Williams in last year’s final, next faces Mathilde Johansson of France.
