Rafael Nadal began his French Open on an onimous note for his rivals by defeating his opponent Gianni Mina of France in 3 straight sets 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 in a crushing display of power Tennis at Roland Garros.
Nadal looked in supreme touch throughout the match carrying over from the form he showed in the Madrid Masters a week back when he had defeated Roger Federer in straight sets. Rafa completely overawed and overpowered his wild card opponent into submission in the first 2 sets. In the final set Mina had a whiff of a chance to break Nadal but could not manage to convert his chances as Rafael Nadal hit some searing groundstrokes.
Nadal, who is the bookmakers favorite to win the French Open is clearly in great form this year at the French Open and his opponents need to be at their very best to be able to match him on clay. Do we have a Roger Federer – Rafael Nadal final in the offing this year ? Well played Nadal and Vamos Rafa for your next match !
