Tennis action is heating up nicely but the likes of Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic made sure to remind fans of the ongoing holiday season. The duo’s casual but fun looks were a solid reminder of how fashion and tennis blend with each other so well.
While both Williams and Djokovic came out with statement looks this week, other members of the tennis community were also not too far behind.
Let's take a look back at some of the most impressive camera moments from last year in case you missed them as and when they unfolded:
#5 Aryna Sabalenka's holiday look
Aryna Sabalenka recently arrived in Australia for the new season. She will be getting her 2025 campaign underway with an encounter against Renata Zarazua at the Brisbane International.
Even after landing Down Under, the Belarusian took time out to spend the holidays with her loved ones. She shared pictures from her date with her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis.
Sabalenka chose a green velvet dress, pairing it with strappy sandals and an off-white mini-purse. The World No. 1 also made a point to share a closer look at her gold and green Audemars Piguet watch. She captioned the post:
"Tis the season for silly couple’s pictures, good outfits, and great food."
#4 Nick Kyrgios' girlfriend Costeen Hatzi styles a beige headscarf
Nick Kyrgios’ girlfriend Costeen Hatzi was recently in Abu Dhabi and she shared several photographs from her trip to the Middle East. One of those posts, from her visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, caught the attention of many fans.
The selfie had Hatzi wearing a beige scarf to cover her head. The simple look that featured muted colors won over many fans, who complimented the social media influencer in the comments section.
"Visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque," she captioned the post.
Kyrgios and Costeen began dating in 2021. The Aussie has been away from the sport for a large part of the last two years due to injuries but staged a comeback at the ongoing Brisbane International with his opening doubles win alongside Novak Djokovic.
#3 Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle picks red
Much like Aryna Sabalenka, Morgan Riddle, American No. 1 Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, was also making the most of the holiday season.
Having landed Australia with Fritz ahead of the new season, Riddle stepped out to celebrate Christmas Down Under. She chose a striking red dress to match the season’s vibe. Limited accessories let her flowing satin dress be the centerpiece of the look.
Riddle, who is also a fashion influencer, also shared other pictures from her day out. By the looks of it, her Christmas was about a nice drink and seafood platter with a nice view of the ocean. She aptly captioned her post:
"a very aussie christmas 🎅🏼☀️🌊❤️"
#2 Novak Djokovic's chic cream tracksuit
Novak Djokovic is not the most common sight in Australia at this time of the year. The 10-time Australian Open champ has rarely played a warm-up tournament in recent times, but here he is, Down Under competing at the Brisbane International.
The special appearance obviously warranted a special look and long-time apparel partner Lacoste delivered.
Djokovic was spotted wearing a chic beige Lacoste tracksuit upon his arrival. The clean and classy look was in stark contrast with his “Pikachu” bag, which also caught the attention of many fans. For the uninitiated, Pikachu is officially listed at #25 in the Pokedex (a Pokemon directory) while the Serb is also hinting at his record-extending 25th Grand Slam title in Australia.
#1 Serena Williams' stylish poolside wear
Taking the cake with her boho-inspired poolside look, Serena Williams was the player to keep an eye out for this week in terms of fashion.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner was definitely in the mood for a winter Christmas as she shared pictures of her from a rather tropical setting. Rocking a one-piece earthy-colored swimsuit, Williams was in a mood to unwind and relax as the year came to a close.
The American paired her look with a pair of black sunglasses. The colors and motifs from her swimsuit seemed to be inspired mostly by boho and hippie patterns. The look was definitely not on brand with the festive season, but in a way helped Williams stand out from the crowd.
