The fourth day of main draw action at the Geneva Open on Wednesday will feature six second-round matches. Six seeds - one of them being a wildcard - will be in action at the ATP 250 claycourt event.
On Tuesday, the likes of third seed Alexander Zverev, JJ Wolf, and Tallon Griekspoor emerged victorious, respectively beating Christopher Eubanks, Hugo Dellien, and Stefano Travaglia.
So, without further ado, here's a look at how the following five second-round matches in Geneva on Wednesday could pan out:
#1 Adrian Mannarino vs Ilya Ivashka
Eighth seed Adrian Mannarino takes on Ilya Ivashka for a place in the Geneva quarterfinals.
The World No. 47 Mannarino beat Filip Krajinovic in his opener to improve to 13-10 on the season. Meanwhile, the 86th-ranked Ivashka improved to 5-10 in 2023 after beating Guido Pella in the first round.
The two players have split their two previous meetings, but Mannarino should take their first clash on clay.
Pick: Mannarino in three sets
#2 Taylor Fritz (Geneva second seed) vs Marcos Giron
Second seed Taylor Fritz opens his Geneva campaign against compatriot Marcos Giron.
World No. 9 Fritz is 27-10 on the season, while the 74th-ranked Giron beat Alexander Bublik in his opener to improve to 13-12 in 2023. Fritz leads the pair's head-to-head 2-1 but should take their first clay meeting.
Pick: Fritz in straight sets
#3 Grigor Dimitrov vs Roberto Carballes Baena
Fourth seed and wildcard Grigor Dimitrov opens his Geneva campaign against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena.
World No. 33 Dimitrov is 12-9 on the season, while the 58th-ranked Carballes Baena beat Daniel Rincon to improve to 13-11 in 2023. Dimitrov won his lone meeting with the Spaniard at Roland Garros in 2020 and should win again.
Pick: Dimitrov in three sets
#4 Tallon Griekspoor vs Nicolas Jarry
Sixth seed Tallon Griekspoor takes on Chile's Nicolas Jarry for a place in the Geneva quarterfinals.
The 39th-ranked Griekspoor beat Stefano Travaglia in his opener to improve to 15-9 on the season. Meanwhile, World No. 54 Jarry downed Srpska winner Dusan Lajovic to bring up his 14th win in 21 matches in 2023.
The two players haven't met before, but Jarry, with his superior claycourt pedigree, should take this one.
Pick: Jarry in three sets
#5 Bernabe Zapata Miralles vs Christopher O'Connell
Seventh seed Bernabe Zapata Miralles locks horns with Christopher O'Connell for a place in the last eight.
World No. 37 Zapata Miralles beat Vitaliy Sachko in the first round to improve to 15-12 in 2023. Meanwhile, the 85th-ranked O'Connell beat Nino Serdarucic to bring up his 10th win in 20 matches this season.
This is a first-time meeting, but the Spaniard should emerge victorious.
Pick: Zapata Miralles in straight sets
