@psuedofed. The Roger Federer parody account

Deep in the world of Twitter, among its numerous parody accounts, is a real jewel. While most people know of the great Roger Federer joining Twitter only a few months ago, very few actually know that he’s actually been on it, or let’s say, represented on it, for a while now. Introducing @pseudofed, a brilliantly creative account and a perfect example of how to include both humour while at the same time not offend anyone. How #humble.

The @Pseudofed account now has over 20,000 followers on Twitter including ‘tennis celebrities’ such as Neil Harman (Mr.Harmans), Brad Gilbert (Mr.Bradlings) and World No. 5 Tomas Berdych. The bio of the account gives followers a taste of what to come, and reads, “Humble tennis player. Everybody says the best player ever and I like to agree. All opinions and tweets are #humble.

No one knows who the man behind the account is. He/she also operates a website called www.pseudofedblog.com and contributes regularly to ‘The Tennis Space’. Whoever is behind the account has managed to beautifully play on what some people mistake Federer to be, arrogant, aloof and secretly jealous of the exploits of ‘Mr.Rafael’ and ‘Andrew of the Murrays.’

@Pseudofed also regularly interacts with his ‘fans’ on twitter, even doing some of them the honour of hiring them as his ‘staff’, while regularly firing staff as and when he pleases. The account is engaging, funny and after following it for a while, it is not uncommon to find yourself reading each tweet in Federer’s voice, despite the overtly exaggerated English used.

Definitely a must-follow, so start reading and following. You will not be disappointed. And as @pseudofed himself says, ‘The pleasure is all yours’ .
