Blinkova then competed at the Hobart International and faced Bernarda Pera in the opening round. The first set saw several service breaks and the Russian eventually won it 7-5 to take the lead in the match.
Pera fought hard in the second set but it still wasn't enough to stop Blinkova from bagging a 7-5, 6-4 win and seal a place in the second round of the Hobart International.
