Cameron Norrie vs Kei Nishikori preview
Former World No. 4 Kei Nishikori will take on Great Britain's Cameron Norrie in the last-eight stage of the 2025 Bank of China Hong Kong Open.
Nishikori has shown an impressive resurgence since making his comeback from an ankle injury last year. The Japanese won 21 of his 31 matches on the pro tour and the Challenger circuit last year. The highlights of his 2024 season included triumphing at the Helsinki Challenger and reaching the quarterfinals of the Toronto Masters against all odds.
The 35-year-old has enjoyed a good run in Hong Kong this week. He defeated former top 10 players Karen Khachanov and Denis Shapovalov in his first two rounds, thereby establishing himself as an underdog at the ATP 250 tournament.
Norrie, meanwhile, has regularly played on the main tour over the last few years but struggled with his consistency. The Brit played only two quarterfinal-level matches between January and October. That said, he made plenty of amends during his last tour-level event in Metz, finishing runner-up to local favorite Benjamin Bonzi.
The former World No. 8 has been in good form at the Hong Kong Open. He began his campaign by beating fast-rising American Learner Tien in straight sets in the first round before overcoming Italy's Lorenzo Sonego in three sets to reach the last eight stage.
Cameron Norrie vs Kei Nishikori head-to-head
Nishikori leads Norrie by a margin of 2-0 in their head-to-head meetings on the ATP Tour. The Japanese defeated the Brit at the 2019 Wimbledon and the 2021 Washington Open.

Cameron Norrie vs Kei Nishikori odds
Nishikori has been getting underneath the ball well enough lately. The former World No. 4 is renowned for his quick-strike style of play that allows him to keep his opponents on the move from the baseline. However, his serve is still very underwhelming and tends to come under attack often.
While Norrie doesn't possess as solid groundstrokes as Nishikori does, he makes up for it with his endurance. The Brit's left-handed forehand is also adept at pulling his opponents out wide, which is an advantage for him in this match-up.
The keys for both players will be to dominate with their respective forehands. However, Nishikori has an edge as he is more astute with his shot selection than Norrie, which should give him enough chances to reach the semifinals in Hong Kong.
Pick: Nishikori in three sets.
