Iga Swiatek vs Emma Navarro preview
Five-time Major champion Iga Swiatek will face World No. 8 Emma Navarro in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2025.
Swiatek commenced her quest for a maiden title Down Under with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Katerina Siniakova. She then handed Rebecca Sramkova a 6-0, 6-2 beatdown and routed former US Open champion Emma Raducanu 6-1, 6-0 in the third round.
Swiatek took on lucky loser Eva Lys in the fourth round. She continued from where she left off in the previous round and scored a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win to reach the quarterfinals here for the second time.
Navarro fought past Peyton Stearns, Wang Xiyu, and Ons Jabeur in three sets to reach the fourth round, where fellow top 10 player Daria Kasatkina awaited her. The American was off to a fast start as she quickly built up a 4-0 lead. However, her opponent halted her momentum with a three-game run.
Navarro then snagged another break of serve to go 5-3 up, though she failed to serve out the set after that despite having four set points. However, she broke Kasatkina's serve once again in the 10th game to take the set.
Kasatkina led by a break twice in the second set only to squander her lead. She then saved four match points on her own serve at 5-4 and nabbed the next couple of games as well to force a decider.
The two switched leads a couple of times in the third set until they were on even terms. Kasatkina served to force a tie-break at 6-5, and Navarro broke her serve one last time to register a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win and reach the quarterfinals here for the first time.

Iga Swiatek vs Emma Navarro prediction
Their path to the quarterfinal couldn't have been any more different. Swiatek has won all of her matches in straight sets and has dropped only 10 games across her four matches so far. Furthermore, she has conceded only one game in each of her last two matches.
Navarro, meanwhile, has been pushed to the brink in every round and needed three sets to down all of her opponents. She has clocked in over 10 hours on the court, while Swiatek has spent a little over four hours so far.
Navarro's grit and determination has gotten her this far but it takes more than that to get the better of Swiatek, especially when she's at her dominating best. Given the Pole's form at the moment, this is likely to be another easy win for her.
Pick: Iga Swiatek to win in straight sets.
