Indian Tennis Players Target Top 50

In India cricket is the more than a popular game It’s a religion. But nowadays other sports are also gaining importance .People would like to watch other sports. Players who are representing India on the international level are performing very well from the past few tournaments in sports like tennis, badminton etc. The best examples are performance of our players in Commonwealth games, Asian games. It was the surprise package for Indian sports lovers.

Nowadays tennis is also gaining much more importance .People are watching tennis tournaments and also enjoying the same. Players who are playing tennis are performing with their full strength and giving their 100% on the court and Somdev Devvarman is not an exception for this. He is performing really very well.

Despite of his strong efforts he was unable to win the titles. In 2009 he lost Chennai open title and then recently he lost in South African Open. (Sunday) But due to this we cannot neglect his past performance. (Commonwealth games, Asian games gold medal)

Though he lost in the championship matches he gained career’s best ranking (80) released by ATP on Monday. He lost his final match at South African open against Kevin Anderson who defeated him by 4-6, 6-3, and 6-2. Despite of lossing he earned 150 points and moved 30 places up to the ladder which is quite impressive from the point of view of Indians. Now he jumped to the careers best ranking. (80)

In the last year in the month of august he was in top 100.Along with Somdev other tennis stars managed to keep their ranking intact. Indian express Bhupathi and Paes are in stable position in the doubles chart.There is no change in Sania Mirza’s ranking.

Ranking is revealing everything and there is good chance for Indian tennis players to retain their positions by performing well in the upcoming tournaments. (Grand slams)
