Daniil Medvedev vs Ilya Ivashka preview
Fifth seed Daniil Medvedev will lock horns with Ilya Ivashka on Sunday (March 12) for a place in the Indian Wells fourth round.
The World No. 6 is on a roll - beating Brandon Nakashima in the opening round to extend his winning streak to 15 matches. During this span, the 27-year-old has won titles at Rotterdam, Doha, and Dubai.
Medvedev opened his campaign for the year with a run to the Adelaide 1 semifinals - where he lost to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. The two-time finalist then lost in the third round at the Australian Open before hitting a purple patch.
Dropping just two sets all week, the former World No. 1 won his first title of the year in Montpellier. A week later, he stood on the winner's podium again, this time dropping just one set en route to the Doha title. Fast forward six weeks, Medvedev won the Dubai title, ending Djokovic's 16-0 start to the year in the semifinals of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the 85th-ranked Ivashka got off the mark for the season this week, beating Roman Saifulin and Botic van de Zandschulp to set up a showdown with the red-hot Medvedev. Earlier, Ivashka had stumbled in the opening round at the Australian Open, Dallas, Delray Beach, and Doha.
Daniil Medvedev vs Ilya Ivashka head-to-head
Medvedev has won three of his four previous meetings with Ivashka, but the pair is 1-1 on hardcourt. However, the Russian won the pair's last meeting in the Halle Round of 16 last year.

Daniil Medvedev vs Ilya Ivashka prediction
On paper, the showdown looks like a mismatch. Medvedev is the near-perfect prototype of a modern-day player with no conceivable weakness. He has a strong serve, hits powerfully off either flank, and moves very well for his height.
Ivashka, by contrast, has far more modest attributes, so it's highly unlikely that the Belarusian will end Medvedev's impressive winning streak. Barring an upset, there should be only one winner here as the Russian seeks to go beyond the fourth round at Indian Wells for the first time.
Prediction: Medvedev to win in straight sets
