World No. 12 Cameron Norrie will lock horns with home favorite Frances Tiafoe at the quarterfinals of the 2023 BNP Paribas Open on Wednesday.

Following wins over Wu Tung-Lin and Taro Daniel, Norrie made it to the fourth round, where Andrey Rublev awaited him. The match started with three straight breaks of serve, with the Brit gaining the upper hand to lead 2-1. He then claimed four of the next five games to take the opening set.
Norrie broke Rublev's serve twice in the second set to lead 5-2. However, he fumbled while closing out the match as he dropped the next two games. The 27-year old wrapped up the proceedings on his second try to win the match 6-2, 6-4.
Tiafoe, meanwhile, knocked out Marcos Giron and Jason Kubler to set up a fourth-round date with qualifier Alejandro Tabilo. The American trailed 3-0 in the first set, but bounced back by capturing six of the next seven games to clinch the set.
An early break of serve at the start of the second set put Tiafoe in front. He held on to the lead until the end of the contest. Tiafoe then stepped up to serve for the match at 5-4, and after saving a couple of break points, completed a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

Norrie played a pretty great match to oust Rublev in the previous round. He remained largely in control of the proceedings, making the most of his varied gameplay to outfox his opponent.
Tiafoe put up a solid display of tennis against Tabilo as well and ended the match with 22 winners and half as many unforced errors. However, the American might find it tough to keep up with Norrie in the next round, who's in great form at the moment.
The Brit is riding an eight-match winning streak and is a former champion at Indian Wells to boot. Norrie's consistency is hard to break down, with his forehand being quite the weapon. His backhand is tough to counter as well, which he usually hits quite deep.
