Having made albums across genres of music, Colombian superstar Shakira , although athletic, is most closely associated with football. The 34-year-old sang the theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, hosted in South Africa, and ‘Waka Waka' went on to become a worldwide hit.
Known to favour running, the singer is also married to FC Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique, with whom she shares sons Sasha and Milan. But yesterday, sheshared a video of herself on a clay court, attempting to hit some forehand volleys across the net.
An interesting fact – Shakira is friends with 14-time Grand Slam winner and former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, who is regarded as the King of Clay and thebest player on that surfae. 30-year-old Nadal also starred in the video for Shakira's 2010 song Gypsy.
Interestingly, Nadal supports Spanish club Real Madrid – the longtime rivals of Shakira’s husband’s club, FC Barcelona. That might make for some intriguing conversation!
Although her tennis skills may need a bit of work, the multi-platinum crooner could teach tennis’ biggest stars a thing or two about singing!
