The Cincinnati Masters, aka the Cincinnati Open, is a tennis tournament held in Mason, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati every year. For sponsorship reasons, the tournament is also known as the Western & Southern Open.
The Lindner Family Tennis Center will be the site for this year’s edition, which will take place from August 13 to August 20.
Due to the fact that both the men's and women's events are among the WTA and Masters 1000 tournaments on their respective Tours, the tournament is the penultimate summer tennis event in the USA, after the US Open.
The Lindner Family Tennis Center is one of the few venues outside of Grand Slams with more than two permanent stadiums and consists of seventeen courts, including four tennis stadiums — Center Court, Grandstand Court, Court 3, and Court 9.

The masters singles record is held by Novak Djokovic, who has 38 titles. Djokovic achieved the Career Golden Masters, becoming the first and only player to win all nine Masters singles titles in 2018. The Bryan brothers (Bob and Mike) hold the record for the most doubles titles ever won, with 39.
Will the Cincinnati Masters be relocated?
The Cincinnati Masters was sold by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to Ben Navarro's Beemok Capital in 2022. In 2023, the tournament requested an additional $22.5 million in state funding to assist with the proposed $150 million expansion of the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
This proposal included plans for the Cincinnati Masters to grow to a 12-day format with a 96-player draw and join the Indian Wells Masters, Madrid Open, and the Miami Open. Rumors that Beemok was thinking about moving the competition to a $400 million tennis complex in Charlotte, North Carolina, surfaced in May 2023.
According to Beemok, "We've had productive conversations with state and local representatives in Mason and the surrounding area and have made considerable efforts to develop a potential master plan to expand the event in its current location."
To keep the tournament in Mason, the city proposed a $15 million commitment in June 2023, along with other financial incentives. State Senator Steve Wilson, however, proposed a $25 million contribution along with a $1 billion "super-capital improvement fund" for a state budget proposal.
