Ann Li will square off against seventh-seed Lucia Bronzetti in the second round of the 2024 Jasmin Open on Thursday, September 12.

Li has primarily featured on the ITF and Challenger circuits this season and has played only a handful of matches on the WTA tour. She has, however, impressed off late by reaching the quarterfinals at the Palermo Ladies Open. She also advanced through the qualifiers at the US Open to reach her first Grand Slam main draw of the year where she was defeated by Ajla Tomljanovic in the first round in straight sets.
Li kicked off her campaign in Monastir against wildcard doubles specialist Kristina Mladenovic, who finished runner-up in the women's doubles at the recently concluded US Open. Li dominated the match, dropping only three games en route to a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Bronzetti entered the Jasmin Open with a 20-26 match record for the season, her best result being a quarterfinal appearance at the Morocco Open. She also reached the second round at the US Open most recently, where she lost to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka. Her form on the WTA 125k circuit has been strong and saw her win the title in Contrexéville, France, in July, where she defeated Mayar Sherif in the finals.
Seeded 7th in Monastir this week, Bronzetti kicked off her campaign with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Dalma Galfi in the opening round.
